UK Agro Resort, Kluang, JOHOR Malaysia
01 May 2014
It was a sunny day and public holiday (Labour Day), we drove to Kluang to visit UK Farm. It was about a 1 hour journey from Tuas second link. The traffic was smooth and we managed to reach our destination without any hassle.
There are few option for us to select for e.g. Guided bus tour or horse carriage for family of 4 etc. We chosen the horse carriage for the kids to have a memorable farm experience. However, we realized that we had actually made a wrong choice. Though it was very private (just us), but there is no tour guide to show us around and to explain the places we are visiting, we are left to explore at our own.
The first stop we visited was the sheep farm. I had read from somewhere that this farm's reputation is being Malaysia’s largest goat and sheep farm, with 100 acres of grazing land for 4000 sheep. It was really "scary" for us to witness such a huge numbers of goat around the farm. Just on time, we also managed to watch hundreds of sheep are let loose from their shed! It is a spectacular sight which we will not be able to see in the city we residing.
We get to try sheep feeding but you have to be prepare for the "stink" with so many goats pooing.

Next, we went to the goat processing area, while waiting for the rest of the visitor to begin the overview by the staff, Hugo try drinking Goat Milk in chocolate flavour.
Next, we continue our excursion and proceed to ostrich park!We tried to feed the ostriches, they do not seems to be hungry and refused to come near for photo taking haha.
Jakun Village
We get to explore the Jakun village which is an authentic insight of Orang Asli ethnic’s culture. This is one of the main attraction for tourists, mainly because of their hand-build houses and utensils. Inside Jakun Village, we get to the uniquer Tree houses (Kerkendeng), hunting traps (Penyatuh Harimau and Perangkap Kancil) and even their breath-taking blowpipe (Temiang) performance.

We visited the mushroom house and get a clearer vision on mushroom growing.
The entire journey we took about 2 hours to complete. Overall, we would say it was not as fruitful as what we expected but it does brought the kids more experience in farm activities and overview.
